"I am a current 4th year Au.D. (Doctor of Audiology) student at Central Michigan University. Having grown up and spent my entire life in Michigan, Arizona has been a pleasant change! Arizona Balance and Hearing Associates was a very appealing externship site for many reasons. In addition to routine audiologic testing, ABHA offers a wide variety of very specialized vestibular diagnostic testing that is not so easy to find at other externship sites. My experience thus far in my 4th year has been very rewarding. I have had the opportunity to gain in-depth diagnostic experience with specialized testing and work with complex cases. ABHA has experienced audiologists who offer a great amount of independence, which has allowed me to enhance my clinical and counseling skills. I am looking forward to the rest of my time at ABHA, and I feel that my experience will allow me be a well-rounded audiologist at the time of graduation."

"As an Arizona native, I was already somewhat familiar with Arizona Balance and Hearing Associates (ABHA) when I began my fourth year clinical training here.  My experiences to date have been very rewarding and enjoyable.  This site offers a vast array of audiologic services including; EcochG, ABR/BAER, VEMPs, VNG/ENG, Rotary Chair, SVV, CDP, Tilt Table Testing, CRM, CAPD, and amplification, in addition to adult and pediatric hearing evaluations.   It is very difficult, as an audiology student, to find externship opportunities that can offer as much as ABHA.  Such a diverse facility allows me a great opportunity to gain valuable clinical experience in virtually all areas of  Audiology and working in conjunction with the physicians and staff from Barrows Neurological Institute / St. Joseph’s Hospital provides a broad spectrum of patients each with unique symptoms and pathologies.  The staff at ABHA is very friendly and accommodating and allows me a great amount of independence with patients.  I’m confident that once my externship is complete that I will be able to go anywhere and apply the good clinical care, I learned at ABHA, to my own patients."
