Rotational Chair Vestibular Study

 

A balance test in which a computer-driven chair rotates in regulated variable speeds in clockwise and counterclockwise motions.  The test takes about 30 minutes and involves having the patient alert with their eyes open.

  • Suspected bilateral vestibular loss who have a normal ENG
    caloric test
  • Perforated eardrums who are unable to undergo caloric testing
  • Ototoxic drug exposure or poor caloric vestibular responses
  • Suspected cerebellar disease or central vestibular dysfunction
